Position of Influence
The title of this blog says it all, one of the main reasons I wanted to become a physical education teacher, I want to influence this younger generation. It seems that the younger and younger the generations gets the more lost they are. Just recently, my high school was on local news for a sexting scandal. A young fifteen year old girl sent a couple guys pictures that they, then sent out to other guys. I'm sorry, but there is something wrong with that. I had great teachers in high school who influenced my life greatly. I can honestly say I wouldn't be where I am today if they didn't stay on top of my grades, my behavior, and my character. I want to do the same thing for other students.

I think more kids now a days think they are invincible. I am only 20 years old and feel old already. Seeing things, such as a sexting scandal is ridiculous to me. If there aren't teachers and parents promoting positiveness then the way they act will never change. Most kids look up to elders. If they are not presesnting themselves, how do they think their kids and students are going to act. Something needs to start somewhere. Having the right mind set now, will make you go far in life teach education.
ReplyDeleteI think it's great that you want to provide guidance for your students, like you I had teachers who pushed me to do more than I thought I could do but ultimately they were right I was underestimating my own potential. Sometimes students just need that outside perspective to help them see things differently. I am sure that you will be able to help many students out through the course of your career.
